Optimum indoor climate in the bedroom

An ideal room climate in the bedroom is particularly important for healthy and restful sleep. Not only the temperature for sleeping, but also the relative humidity in the bedroom play an important role here. We explain what the ideal humidity in the bedroom should be, what the best room temperature is for sleeping and how you can ensure an optimal room climate in your bedroom.

Optimal indoor climate in the bedroom: why it is important

  1. For a better, deeper and more restful sleep
  2. For increased concentration and productivity during the day
  3. For furniture and equipment that is protected and stays beautiful longer

Ideal humidity in the bedroom

The ideal relative humidity in the bedroom is between 40 % and 60 %. This range is considered comfortable and beneficial to health.

If the air is too dry, this can lead to respiratory and skin problems, irritation of the eyes, electrostatic discharge and generally poorer sleep quality.

If the air is too humid, this can promote mould growth, the spores of which can trigger allergic reactions and respiratory problems. In addition, the air can be perceived as stuffy and musty, which can affect sleep quality.

Suitable temperature for sleeping

The ideal temperature in the bedroom varies according to individual preferences, but should generally be in the range of 16 °C to 19 °C.

Temperatures that are too low can lead to muscle tension and increased susceptibility to colds and respiratory infections. It can also cause problems falling asleep and staying asleep.

Temperatures that are too high can lead to dehydration, restless sleep, increased sweating and general malaise.

Air purifiers

An air purifier effectively removes pollutants such as dust, pollen, allergens and harmful bacteria and viruses from the air. This means you breathe in a cleaner and healthier environment and sleep better. If the air is too dry at the same time, an air washer is recommended.

Fan heaters

The use of a fan heater in the bedroom is particularly suitable in the transitional period to winter, when the central heating is not yet on. A fan heater provides quick, adjustable heat and can contribute to an optimal room temperature in the bedroom.
